Golf Course Work Requires Heavy Equipment Help
Heavy equipment is primarily used in construction, mining and farming but did you know that golf courses need heavy equipment operators too?
When searching for a heavy equipment job, it’s easy to get in a mindset that you will be working in “typical” heavy equipment work. But, there are many other types of companies that need someone who can use a bulldozer or an excavator. One particular job is landscape design, in the area of tree planting and removal, for public and private golf courses. And, the best way to remove and plant trees and shrubs is with heavy equipment.
For this type of job, you would need to know how to use an excavator or backhoe to dig the large hole for the tree. The backhoes can dig the hole while a loader can be used as a bulldozer to gather the soil. Other types of equipment you may need when working on a golf course include a mobile crane or a skid-steer loader. Precision and caution is most important for this job because trees need to be moved quickly and with as little damage as possible. A sense of design is important too but you will most likely work closely with a golf course landscape architect to correctly design the golf course.
If you like golf and working with trees, you may want to consider getting into the golf or landscape design industry. Working with nature plus heavy equipment may be the best option for you! If you are interested, consider going to a heavy equipment school, like the Heavy Construction Academy. Our school has a program that will train you on many types of equipment. You’ll be ready to tackle any type of job whether it is in construction or in landscaping.
