VA Education Benefits for construction training and jobs for veterans
Are you a recent veteran wondering what your next career step should be? Think about heavy equipment training.
HCA is a fully approved VA Post-Secondary Vocational School and can enroll veterans under Montgomery GI Bill, VA Vocational Rehab, Dependent Benefits and VRAP.
If you’re a post-9/11 veteran, benefits from the Post-9/11 GI Bill are now available to use for approved programs offering heavy equipment operator certification and training. Programs offering construction certification and training can help many post-9/11 veterans begin a career in heavy equipment operation.
Previously, vocational programs were not included in the Post-9/11 GI Bill. However, in 2011 there were changes made to the bill and it now includes to include a variety of vocational programs, including heavy equipment operator certification programs. Before the Post 9/11 GI Bill was expanded, veterans who wanted to seek vocational training were limited to the Montgomery GI Bill, which does cover vocational programs but offers less benefits than the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
The Post-9/11 GI Bill is the biggest investment for veteran education since World War II. Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits includes tuition and fees coverage, a monthly allowance for living expenses, and stipends for books and other materials.
Those who served in the military often find that their service provided them with a background that transfers well for heavy equipment jobs. Many veterans find a lot of success in heavy equipment operator careers. Because heavy equipment training takes less time than attending a four-year college, you can be out working on a job site in no time!
